Velocita Energies and Envision Energy are building their first storage facility in France(04 September 2025)

In July 2025, Velocita Energies launched its first storage unit construction project in Saleux, near Amiens. The Saleux site will have a capacity of 120MW and 240MWh and will be based on BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) technology provided by Envision Energy. At the end of 2026, Velocita Energies will deliver the turnkey site via an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contract to Kallista Energy, the owner of the storage unit.

The Saleux site will provide frequency regulation services to the electricity grid on the reserve markets of the French transmission system operator RTE. It will also enable better integration of renewable energies by providing flexibility to the electricity system, smoothing out production peaks by charging the batteries and then supplying consumption peaks by discharging the batteries.

This project marks Envision Energy’s first independent contract in the field of battery energy storage in France. Envision Energy will also provide a long-term service agreement (LTSA) with a minimum term of 14 years.

“France is a key market for Envision Energy as it expands its presence in Europe. Our partnership with Kallista Energy marks an important step in this process. We are proud to provide a turnkey energy storage solution that is fully integrated and tailored to the Saleux project. With our cutting-edge technology, EPC expertise and a 14-year long-term service contract, this project demonstrates our deep commitment to supporting grid stability and accelerating the transition to renewable energy through safe, reliable and scalable energy solutions,” said Henry Peng, Senior VP and President of Latin America and Europe at Envision Energy.
